How to self rescue in the ocean? Jetsurf Safety Tips.

In this short video im going to show you a self rescue tip that i am using myself when jetsurfing alone in the open ocean and rough conditions..

The tips are for ocean jet surfers who ride alone in the rough conditions. Of course you won’t need flippers in the lake where it’s 30 meters to swim to the shore in the flat water.

What im going to show you might look funny until it is not, because there is nothing worse than getting stuck alone in the middle of the ocean far away from the shore with big waves, rocks and rip currents around you and no plan B.

And if you think it will never happen to you, trust me, it happened several times to me. The board is very reliable but it can still break for no reason, or even worse you may get a stick, debris, sea weed or even fishermans net stuck in the propeller and there is no way to get it out without the tools. You can also flood your engine during wipeout or simply run out of gasoline. There are many things that can go wrong and it’s always better be prepared.

The rule of thumb is saying – never ride further than you are ready to swim back, but i guess nobody is following it, especially in the ocean where you have to be far enough from the shore to avoid the waves. So without further ado, let me jump straight into the ocean to show you the funny but helpful solution that i use when there are nobody around to help me. lets go!

We will cover

– Why you need plan B in the ocean?

– Security backpack with flipper, paddle gloves and the phone

– The tips are for ocean jet surfers who ride alone in the rough conditions.Of course you won’t need flippers in the lake where it’s 30 meters to swim to the shore in the flat water.

A lot of things I cover might look simple and obvious for jetsurf experts and veterans, but could be very helpful for people who are just starting out with jet surfing and have no experience in it!

Enjoy!
